I am Achinthia Srikanth, a professional dance teacher residing in Plymouth, Minnesota. Being a senior disciple of eminent Gurus Dr. Kalarani Ramachadran and Kalai Chudarmani Smt. Shanthini Arunagiri (Madurai Natyakalalaya), I wanted to contribute to this art and at the same time keeping up the standard and tradition high. I have 28 years of experience in Bharathanatyam (Pandanallur style) and have received many awards in this field.

- I was awarded the Ceritificate of Special Honour from Lady Doak College affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University in the year 2003

- Conferred the title Nunkala Bharathi Award from Karur Koothambalam Nunkalai academy in the year 2013.

- I was honored the Certificate of Appreciation from High Range Book of World Records in the year 2020. 

- Received "World Star Award" from International Star Book of Records for the great achievements in Bharathanatyam in the year 2022

- Received "Jhansi Rani Award" from SRB Charitable Trust in Madurai for the excellent skills and contributions in this field of art in the year 2022

I have given more than 100 stage performances in Madurai, Bangalore & USA and has won laurels in this field many a times. I have completed Master's degree in Fine Arts (Bharathanatyam) from "Kalaikaviri College of Fine Arts" with Distinction. I also have a Post Graduate Diploma in Theatre Arts of Holistic Development for special children. I have involved in various voluntary services for special children by facilitating Dance movement therapy.

As the Director of Sri Sakthi Natyalaya  (started in Jan 2012, Bangalore), have trained 40 children in Bharathanatyam and given various stage performances in Bangalore, Madurai and USA. Bharathanatyam is taught not only to children and adults, it is an art form which has been reached to special children-Differently abled children as well. I have trained Children with special needs. (Mental Retardation, Down Syndrome) at RASA ( Chennai & Bangalore) and Deepika School for special children at Basavangudi, Bangalore.

I have a strong belief that "Life is given to live and every individual is engaged constantly in the effort to live a happy life". I have innate interest to teach special children and to bring out their potential to the maximum.

Students of Sri Sakthi Natyalaya are taught in traditional progression starting with Adavus, Alaripu, Pushpanjali, Kauthuvam, Jathiswaram, Shabdam, Padam, Varnam, and ending with Thillana. Students are also trained in Abhinaya, acting and story-telling. Once students have reached certain proficiency, they can complete an Arangetram (Ranga Pravesha), which is a solo performance given with live orchestra to introduce the dancer to the community.

 

I am taking both online and offline Bharathanatyam classes for children above the age of 5 and for adults.
